Day 21. Dress from Buffalo Exchange, hat from Nordstrom Rack.
#30daysofcreativity
I’m going to the Jazz Age Lawn Party this weekend on Governor’s Island. Judging from the pictures, people get really into it. The outfit still needs work - I’m thinking beige heels (instead of the wedges), white gloves and fresh flowers to the hat will do the trick. I’m trying to channel Jane March in L’amant.Day 21. Day 12. T-shirt necklace.
#30daysofcreativity
Here’s how to make your own t-shirt necklace. Dig through your closet and find an old t-shirt you don’t wear anymore - trust me, there’s always one, buried at the bottom of a drawer. Any t-shirt will do, though those that are softer (think American Apparel tri-blend vs. Hanes cotton) will be easier to manipulate.
Grab some scissors and start cutting a quarter-inch strip of t-shirt that is parallel to the bottom of the shirt. You’ll basically keep cutting, spiraling upwards, until you have one long string of t-shirt. The length of the string will determine how many loops your necklace has, so cut accordingly.
Hold onto one end and begin looping the string, varying the length depending on what kind of necklace you want. This one starts small and gets longer, but you could easily make a single length necklace with tons of loops. Once you’re at the end of the string, wrap the bundle of loops at the top using your two loose ends, and then tie them together to secure.
If you want to get fancy, use two different colored t-shirts, or add things that dangle off the necklace - charms, feathers, whatever you have lying around.Day 12. T-shirt necklace.
